St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time to get a little festive with your kids!

Here in the Artsy House, we enjoy making holiday themed crafts, decorations, and snacks like this tasty Leprechaun Snack Mix! All you need are a few simple ingredients, many of which you probably have around the house already.

Here’s how to make your own.

Sweet and Salty Leprechaun Snack Mix

Our Ingredients are:
- pretzel sticks
- buttered popcorn
- peanuts
- green M&M candies
- green jelly beans
- green miniature marshmallows

You can also omit or add any other ingredients you like, for example you’ll want to leave out the peanuts if someone in your family happens to have a nut allergy. If you can think of any other green foods to add, like green grapes, feel free to toss those in as well!

To prepare this snack, all you have to do is mix the ingredients together in a bowl and enjoy the sweet and salty goodness. I didn’t include any specific amounts in the recipe because you’ll want to vary them according to your own taste. If your child particularly loves marshmallows, add lots; if pretzel sticks aren’t their favorite, use just a few. Since it’s a mix and not a baked item, the specific amounts of each ingredient are totally up to you. I also like that you can make a huge batch or a single serving at any time. For even more festive fun, serve it with a green drink…Tampico Kiwi Strawberry Punch is a perfectly delicious choice! You can get silly by taping a few paper mustaches to their straws and let your little leprechauns sip and snack to their hearts’ content.
