I’m always taking photos of my kids. Rarely am I actually in the picture myself. This week I handed over my camera and had my husband take some photos of me with our kids. I want them to see that I was there too, a part of all the fun they were having, not just sitting in the background.

We didn’t go any place fancy, just to our backyard where the kids and I spend a lot of our time playing. I’ll push and spin them on the swings, and then we’ll run around and play tag in the yard. At first I’m tempted to criticize myself in each photo but I stop myself and just embrace the fact that I’m there--with them, in the photo.
