For a long time now, B has been in love with the Trolls characters especially Princess Poppy and DJ Suki. I love the music, the message and of course these adorable characters too.  Since fall is coming we have been starting to brainstorm about Halloween costumes already.  If you have followed me on Instagram, you know B likes to wear multiple costumes since we often celebrate Halloween with lots of different parties the week or two leading up to the big night.  And dressing up with costumes from B’s Dress Up Closet is one of her favorite activities especially when friends come over.

So, when we found out that Tampico Beverages was partnering with DreamWorksTV’s animated series, “Trolls: The Beat Goes On” we knew it was the perfect time to make the DIY Trolls Headbands.  We based them on our two favorite characters, so B and a friend could both dress up like trolls at the same time.

Have you played their new interactive Instagram-based game, “Tampico Flavor Hunt”, yet? Simply begin by finding the first Tampico six-pack in our Troll World on Instagram and continue locating all the hidden six-packs as you are directed. Once you have completed the game and found all the Tampico six-packs leave a comment and you are entered to win a $100 Netflix gift card. Click here to begin the fun!

How to Make DIY Trolls Headband

  1. Cut your tulle into 20 pieces that are all about 24″ long. Pro Tip: Wrap your tulle around a book so you can cut multiple pieces at once and they will all be the same length
  2. Tie each piece of the tulle around the headband
  3. Tie the string around the top of the tulle

For Poppy: Cut off individual flowers from your faux flowers, cut out leaves from your green felt and a long green strip.

Pro Tip: For the leaves create a template our of paper so they are all the same size.  Use this template to trace the patterns on your felt.

For DJ Suki: Using felt cut out one long strip of white and two circles for the ear phones.

Pro Tip: Use a piece of ribbon to measure the length of the white strip.  You want it to go from ear to ear.  Use a circle to trace your ear phones.  We used the top of a mason jar for the perfect size.

Use your hot glue gun to apply your felt accessories.

And enjoy!
