This has got to be one of the coolest Texas summers on record. With all the rain we’ve been doing a lot less swimming and a lot more exploring. We’re discussing seasons and looking for signs of fall.

It won’t officially hit until later this month but on our family nature walk one evening we looked for clues that Autumn is coming. My daughter found fallen brown leaves (which may have actually been because that particular branch died but that’s neither here nor there).

We looked for other clues like the changing weather and talked about the holidays we’ll celebrate in the fall.

After a walk around the trail we sat down and sipped on one of our favorite fall colors: Bright orange citrus flavored Tampico. It was a nice refreshing snack on a warm afternoon.

We talked about what we liked about our favorite seasons. I go back and forth between Spring and Fall being my favorite seasons. Lil’ J says she likes fall because in Texas it’s still warm enough to swim but she can also jump in a big pile of leaves (which we have yet to do at our house).

It’s just the beginning but we’re excited to see what this Texas fall will bring.
