It is hard to believe that it is 2015 already!

That also means it is the time of year to take stock of our lives and figure out what changes we need to make! There are always ways we can improve ourselves and our lives, and what better time than now? Here are a few resolutions my family and I will be making this year!

Sleep

If you know me (especially if you are friends with me on Facebook), you will know I do not get 8 hours of sleep at night. With my many health issues (thyroid, adrenal, etc), it is very important that I get enough sleep.  Bill also has some health issues that we were told that enough sleep would help.  Plus, there are countless studies showing how sleep affects every facet of your life.  This is one thing that I am going to work on my best to do in 2015.

Keep the Weight Off

Collectively, Bill and I lost 100 lbs and 70 inches in 2014.  We want to continue and maintain that!  We both are at a much better weight (though I wouldn’t mind losing another 10 lbs).  We both have resolved to keep each other accountable, and we will keep the weight off.  

Work Out More

At the end of 2014, I started boxing.  I really don’t like working out, but I need to tone and I want to keep the weight off!  I have a love/hate relationship with boxing.  It burns off 800-1000 calories which is awesome.  However, it is a lot of hard work.  The place I go is amazing though.  We don’t do anything longer than 3 minutes, so no matter how much it stinks at the time, you only have to do it for 3 minutes!  The last 10 minutes of our class is also ab work, so eventually I’ll hopefully have a great pack of abs!

More Smoothies

There are lots of great ways to reward yourself for a great workout.  I like to make myself a smoothie!  Here’s a quick recipe for my own Tampico fruit explosion smoothie:

Tampico Fruit Explosion Smoothie

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Tampico Mango Punch
  • 2 kiwis
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cup ice

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in the blender or food processor.
  • Blend together and serve in a tall glass.

Notes

  • You can add more ice for a thicker smoothie.

Be More Positive

This is something I have been working on in 2014.  I really believe that you bring in what you project out there.  I’ve lost some Facebook friends over this, but I don’t want to be around you if all you do is complain.  It really sucks the life out of you.  My goal for 2015 is to try and be more positive in my own life.
